After taking some more photos of the chapels at Rocamodour first thing this morning, we rode to St. Céré across the Causse. The landscape is rolling as before and the decent at the end of the Causse into St. Céré was pretty fabulous. Hard to beat a 4km of 6% (~240m) drop on a smooth wide road. St. Céré's suburbs are industrial and not terribly interesting but the centre is medieval. The river, la Bave, that runs through the town and gives the town the nickname of Little Venice has the reputation for flooding. The river was split into canals which were built in the 1600s and only the main tributary is visible today as the river.
