We left Bergerac early in the morning amongst the rush hour traffic on our way to Monflanquin.  We stopped over in Villeréal, a bastide town with a well-preserved covered market square in the town centre.   As the day was heating up very quickly, we didn't stay very long.  Monflanquin, only 13 km down the road, is one of the best preserved bastide towns on par with Monpazier but not quite as touristy.  The main square, Place des Arcades, is surrounded by very old buildings.  We are staying at a very modern hotel resort just outside of town.  Many of the tourists in this region are British who are here to avoid the damp and cold climate of home.  English is frequently heard in the streets and markets.
