Other than the Burgess Shale, Lake O’Hara is the most difficult place to get to. It is either reserving  space on a bus 3 months in advance or a 11 km walk in and out on a gravel road. Lake O’Hara is so popular that access is strictly controlled.  Back in 2002, it rained for 3 days so we didn’t bother coming in even though we had reserved seats on the bus.  This time we had perfect weather.
